Current Events Week of 11/6-11/12

Highlights from last week: Three of our great students participated in Region Choir this past Saturday, and sang the following wonderful music:

Three of our great students Friday night, rehearsing for their Saturday performance.
  • Sing Joyfully (William Byrd)
  • Come to Me (Stephen Chatman)
  • Beati Mortui (Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, ed. Michael J. Weber)
  • Dome Epais (Leo Delibes arr. Francisco J. Nunez)
  • Flight Song (Kim Andre Arnesen)
  • Kyrie (Joseph Haydn)

Our Piano 1 students have just started learning their Solo and Ensemble music for February's Contest! Right now they are working on their right hands, trying to get all the way through the piece without stopping, and using the correct fingerings. Way to go piano!

AP Music Theory students are finishing up their first part writing assignments and are working on 7th chord identification. Tough stuff, and they are doing well. Good job, AP Theory!
